Apple iTune Downloads Faster

Now that Apple iTunes and NetFlix are offering users the ability to rent movies directly from their website, many people are going to need an upgrade to broadband to stream these videos over the Internet. You can take a speedtest of your broadband to see how fast your Internet connection really is.

BT consumer broadband packages and services offers the speedtest to anyone in the UK with a phone number to see if the computer is running at 8MB broadband connection speed. With such big file sizes for movies, television shows, music, audio clips, and streaming audio, BT Total Broadband offers a fast connection for easy downloads.

With broadband purchase, BT Total Broadband offers a standard wired router, 5GB monthly download allowance, and 250 Wi-Fi minutes per month.

Create your BT Total Broadband value bundle and take the speedtest to get your Internet connection to the speed you need to download Apple iTunes and watch rental movies directly from NetFlix.

Hollywood Writers Strike: ReRuns!

Show-business writers will go on strike early Monday after their negotiating team recommended a walkout over royalties. Timely programs like "The Late Show with David Letterman", and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" could be among the first affected.

The Writers Guild of America board voted unanimously to strike as of 12:01 a.m. Monday (3:01 a.m. ET), officials said. Steve Skrovan, a screenwriter for the Fox show "'Til Death," said a strike is all but inevitable.

A writers' strike will have an immediate impact on more than 200,000 workers in the movie and TV industry and the thousands more who produce or sell entertainment elsewhere in the United States. Members of the Writers Guild of America and the group representing film and TV producers were set to meet Tuesday with a federal mediator after little progress in talks since July.

Services including NetFlix and Blockbuster Video may see a surge in rentals with reruns dominating prime time. This may be the best time for Movielink, movie download sites, and television aggregates to start promoting services to capture a TV hungry audience.
